Intervention Services

We work with adolescents, adults, and families in efforts to get your loved one the help they need.

We at Sage Counseling know that the disease of addiction not only negatively impacts the addicted person, but also deeply affects most anyone who interacts with them. Maybe this is your first attempt at getting your loved one connected to help, or maybe you have attempted this several times. Regardless, we are glad you have reached out to us. Your loved one can recover.

The disease of addiction is a serious medical condition that, if left untreated, is progressive and can be fatal.

We understand the urgency, but we also know the importance of thoroughly planning an intervention.

About our intervention process

We follow the ARISE® Invitational Intervention® process, developed by Dr. Judith Landau. This is a non-secretive, gradually escalating process focused on collaborative care. This is an evidence-based best practice method, which is not centered on a specific event, but continues until the addicted person and family are healthy in recovery. We will provide support and services to you and your family during the process of getting your loved one into treatment, while they are in treatment, and for six months after they are discharged from treatment.

When utilizing the ARISE intervention method, data show that when following this method, 83% of addicted people get into treatment within three weeks of the intervention, and 96% get into treatment within six months. Furthermore, 61% who go to treatment are sober by the end of the first year.

When you utilize our intervention services, we will partner with you and other family members who are concerned about your loved one. You will be asked to invite the addicted person to our first planning meeting. Even if they choose not to attend this meeting, we will still meet to plan for the help they need.

As interventionists, our goals are to get the disease arrested and have everyone involved feel some relief from the effects of living with someone in active addiction. We will work as a team to identify the steps necessary so this goal can be accomplished.

The first steps of an intervention

Schedule time (30 to 60 minutes) to speak directly to one of our intervention specialists about your unique needs. We will respectfully ask a series of questions about the person of concern and your family history to get to know your family better and to determine your needs. We respect the privacy and confidentiality of all phone calls.

• For the best possible outcome, we will work with you in assembling a team of individuals who will make up your intervention team.
• We will provide education to all members of the intervention team. This will help everyone remain committed to their recovery goals.
• Your interventionist will help determine what level of care would be best for your loved one. The interventionist will work closely with the agreed-upon treatment provider and will work with the identified family member on all details necessary, contributing to a smooth admission process.
• Clients and families who have the best outcomes remain connected with services for six months after engaging in services.

Sage Counseling has decades of experience working with addicted individuals and family members. We will be there with you every step of the way.
